We are seeking a highly skilled PHP Developer to join our team at Overwolf on a full-time basis.

As a key member of our development team, you will be at the forefront of the User-Generated Content (UGC) revolution, where your work will have a tangible impact on the gaming community, enabling creators to bring their visions to life. You will play a crucial role in shaping our technical landscape, driving innovation, and using cutting-edge technology alongside passionate and talented individuals who share your enthusiasm. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining our status as a market leader, ensuring the continued high performance and security of our platform.

This role is a remote first position open to UK residents only.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop robust PHP code to build new features of varying complexity.
  • Investigate and resolve complex bugs and maintain and refactor existing codebases.
  • Offer assistance on technical support queries.
  • Share your unique knowledge and experience with the development team through code reviews and technical discussions.
  • Consider and implement security and performance best practices in all code you produce.
  • Enhance the user experience by making thoughtful suggestions and improvements to projects.
  • Create powerful PHP solutions in the Overwolf development environment.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • 3 years of experience with PHP and Laravel with a deep understanding of various development approaches and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in automated testing (PHPUnit feature tests, etc.).
  • High standards and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Receptive to feedback and open to new ideas with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively to overcome challenges.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills; experience in software development methodologies is a plus.
