About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Faith and Pastoral Care Specialist to join our team at Justice. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced chaplain to work with prisoners and staff of various faiths and beliefs, providing guidance, pastoral care, and spiritual welfare.

Job Description
  • Provide expert advice on faith and belief systems, promoting understanding and respect among individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Develop and lead worship, meditation, and faith-specific meetings, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Collaborate with other chaplains, volunteers, and external groups to maintain and provide facilities for worship, meditation, and prayer.
  • Contribute to the development of local policies, procedures, and practices that promote inclusivity and respect.
  • Offer pastoral care and support to prisoners and staff in crisis situations, utilizing skills in mentoring and personal support.
  • Nurture volunteer contributions and ensure their effective utilization.
Essential Requirements
  • A recognized qualification in Islamic Studies or equivalent knowledge of Islam.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Tajweed (correct pronunciation of Arabic).
  • Ability to represent the chaplaincy team at establishment meetings, committees, and boards.
  • Capacity to contribute to training programs and materials for staff and volunteers.
Additional Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to actively engage with local faith communities, build relationships, and explore opportunities for collaboration and mutual support.

This role offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, reflecting the importance of this position within our organization. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including generous allowances for unsocial hours, ensuring your well-being and job satisfaction.
