About the Role

This vacancy is for a passionate and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our team at The Ship Inn, Caerleon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, including preparation, cooking, and storage areas.
  • Complete food safety management system documentation.
  • Work with others to ensure dishes produced are of high quality, delivered on time, and to the standard required.
  • Contribute to reviewing and refreshing menus and providing input on new menu suggestions and ideas.

Requirements

  • No qualifications are required, but you must undertake your Level 2 Hygiene Certification if you do not currently possess one.
  • This will be based on your current qualifications and experience (if any) - we always pay above the National Minimum Wage - bonuses available after satisfactory probationary period.
  • Weekend and evening availability is a must for this position.
  • You will have a "can do" attitude along with a pride in your appearance and your timekeeping.
  • Willingness to learn and to have a basic knowledge of food hygiene.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to work well as a team member.
