Regional Governance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Governance Specialist to join our team at Global Jobs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on governance issues, preferably within Europe, with a focus on transparency, accountability, participation or open government reform.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in promoting open government and advancing the interests of civil society organizations, governments, and other stakeholders in the region.
The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
About the Role
The Regional Governance Specialist will be responsible for providing strategic analysis and planning for assigned countries, engaging with civil society organizations, governments, and other stakeholders to develop ambitious action plans and commitments that promote the open government agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement country and regional strategies and plans in collaboration with the global Support Unit team.
- Collaborate with civil society organizations and governments to develop high-quality, relevant, and ambitious OGP action plans.
- Mobilize and coordinate financial and technical support from external partners to assist in the successful implementation of these action plans.
- Lead on outreach to and maintain strong relationships with senior government officials, civil society leaders, funders, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, such as public administration, political science, law, or international relations.
- Extensive experience working on governance issues, preferably within Europe, with a focus on transparency, accountability, participation, or open government reform.
- Experience engaging with civil society organizations, governments, funders, and/or multilateral institutions on related issues.
- Excellent communication and relational skills, including building effective collaborations, influencing senior decision-makers, networking, public speaking, and meeting facilitation.
