Local Government Scrutiny Officer

We are a dynamic team looking for a highly skilled Principal Scrutiny Officer to join us. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the development of the Scrutiny work programme, analysing information, and providing advice and interpretation to members. You will also be responsible for developing ideas for scrutiny projects into realistic proposals and ensuring the overall development of the Council's scrutiny function.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with elected members and senior officers, and a good understanding of the communities in Haringey. They must also have excellent project management skills and be able to manage a demanding workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of the Scrutiny work programme
- Analyse information and provide advice and interpretation to Members
- Develop ideas for scrutiny projects into realistic, scoped out proposals
- Ensure the overall development of the Council's scrutiny function
Benefits:
This role offers a competitive salary of £52,000 - £57,000 per annum, plus benefits including a generous local government pension scheme, health and wellbeing support, and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture.
