About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Rehabilitation Engineering Technician to join our team at West London NHS Trust. As a key member of our technical services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our wheelchair services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance of NHS wheelchairs, ensuring they are in good working order and meet the needs of our service users.
  • Manage the repair and maintenance of wheelchair components, including hand and power tools and fittings.
  • Work closely with our clinical team to ensure that wheelchair repairs are completed to a high standard and meet the needs of our service users.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of wheelchair technology and best practices in wheelchair repair and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with our administrative team to ensure that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds Full Technical Certificate, HNC or HND or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent work-based experience.
  • Demonstrable experience working with people, using effective communication.
  • Demonstrable technical ability, including knowledge of hand and power tools and fittings.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and service users.
