Our client, a leading organisation in the Engineering & Manufacturing Industry, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team based in the Reigate, Surrey office.

Job Description

As the Accountant based in the Reigate, Surrey office, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing monthly financial reports for the Managing Director and parent company.
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and laws.
  • Processing tax reports and payments, as well as VAT reporting to the Tax authorities.
  • Creating, reviewing, and reconciling fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Reconciling accounts and supplier/customer accounts, including intercompany reconciliation with Sweden.
  • Coding and posting supplier invoices with approval.
  • Monthly bank reconciliation and communication with company banks.
  • Monthly inventory reconciliation and stock/cycle count.
  • Collaborating with accountants and tax advisors.
  • Monthly reconciliation and consolidation of time reporting.
  • Conducting analysis, including trend analysis, of the branch's performance, including sales and financial reporting to management and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinating with the group accounting team in Sweden.
  • Regularly communicating with colleagues and keeping them updated on financial developments and trends.
  • Accounting for currency differences.
  • Knowledge of statutory accounting, legal, and tax requirements.
  • General to advanced bookkeeping skills and knowledge of balance account reconciliations.
  • Understanding of the chart of accounts and classification of accounts, debit, and credit, as well as the workflow of AP, AR, and bank ledger.
  • Sufficient years of accounting experience to demonstrate proven capability at the contribution level required.
  • Knowledge of Tax.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
  • Understanding of the audit process and ability to support in managing external providers.
