Senior Management Role at Inverclyde Council

Inverclyde Council is a dynamic and forward-thinking local authority, and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our team.

As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and direction of the organisation. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring sound financial planning and controls underpin our work, and that risk is managed effectively.

You will work closely with senior colleagues across the organisation to drive business improvement and ensure that our financial reporting and advice are of the highest quality. Your core service portfolio will include Finance, Internal Audit, and Revenues & Benefits, although you will be expected to contribute across the full spectrum of the Council's work.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional who can bring a fresh perspective and a passion for delivering high-quality financial services. If you have a strong track record of leadership and a commitment to excellence, we would welcome your application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the Council's business objectives
  • Lead the Finance, Internal Audit, and Revenues & Benefits teams to deliver high-quality services
  • Provide expert financial advice and guidance to senior colleagues and elected members
  • Manage risk and ensure that financial controls are in place to mitigate potential threats
  • Contribute to the development of the Council's business plan and budget
