**The Role**:
We are looking for a motivated, experienced mental health nurse to join our Professional team as Deputy ADN. Your focus will be on consolidating Care Assurance and professional standards across Mental Health, Learning Disability and Addiction services. The role is strategic and operational, providing professional leadership, and influencing future service delivery in NHS Lanarkshire for identified sites. The post holder will have a professional lead for nursing within their sites/localities, ensuring standards of clinical practice, patient centred care and workforce development are in place to maximise the impact of nursing on service change and quality improvement.

The post holder will act as a deputy to the Associate Director of Nursing and will work closely with the Locality Manager/General Manager and the Associate Medical Director and their deputies in providing visible leadership at both a site and NHS Lanarkshire level.

The post holder will contribute to the clinical, financial and staff governance arrangements ensuring safe, efficient and effective care, compatible with professional and national clinical standards.

The post holder will contribute to the corporate management of the Directorate, and assists the Divisional Director in achieving the Executive Directorate's objectives.

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- Registered Nurse with valid UK NMC Registration.
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework.
- Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development.
- Professional, leadership and managerial experience within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the health care agenda.
- Experience and knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies.
- Experience of resource management i.e. financial; human; capital.
- Knowledge and experience of needs assessment and analysis/interpretation of related data.
- A proven track record in sound and effective leadership.
- Ability to think strategically, corporately and act as a team player.
- A proven track record in developing innovative solutions in meeting organisational requirements and motivating staff to affect change.
- A proven track record in developing teams/services and integrated solutions to complex and challenging problems.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.

- Ability to develop reports, work plans, risk management templates
- Coaching/Mentoring Skills
- Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence

**Contract type**:
Fixed Term or Secondment for 1 year

**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in Nurse Directorate within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.
