Role Summary:
A talented Child Development Specialist is sought after by Philosophy Education to support a child with ASD and suspected Pathological Demand Avoidance in a primary school setting. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality support, utilizing their expertise in de-escalation and restraint techniques. As the child becomes more settled, the role will expand to encompass general support across the reception class.

About the Position:
The ideal candidate will boast extensive experience working with children with ASD and a solid understanding of the Early Years curriculum. They will commit to providing stability and consistency, empowering the child to succeed in their educational journey. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the SENCo and external agencies to ensure the child's needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality 1:1 support to a child with ASD and suspected PDA
  • Utilize de-escalation and restraint techniques as necessary
  • Promote general well-being across the reception class

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience working with children with ASD
  • Solid understanding of the Early Years curriculum
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
