Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer/Support Analyst to join our team at Worldline. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise for our mainframe applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 24x7x365 support for mainframe applications owned by Worldline and other organizations in the UK rail industry.
  • Support the development and maintenance of mainframe applications written in COBOL, CICS, and JCL.
  • Collaborate with support teams in customer organizations to resolve technical issues and improve application performance.
  • Participate in the enhancement and development lifecycle, including functional specification, technical specification, code and unit testing, system testing, and implementation planning.
  • Analyze potential changes to applications and communicate with customers on enhancements projects and incident/problem resolution.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in a 3rd Level Application Technical Support role working with complex applications in mainframe COBOL, CICS, and JCL environments.
  • Fluent English skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders in a clear, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Capability to analyze complex COBOL programs and provide a description of the functionality represented by the code.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering to tight deadlines under pressure without supervision, particularly in a 24x7x365 support environment.
  • Awareness and appreciation of potential functional/technical/commercial implications of issues or decisions and ability to clearly explain these to customers.
