Professional Liability Underwriter

The Hartford is a leading insurance company dedicated to making a positive impact through its policies and coverage. As an Assistant Underwriter for Professional Liability in the London Financial Lines team, you will play a key role in supporting the growth and profitability of our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to underwriting renewal business by analyzing trends and maintaining profitability.
  • Provide technical underwriting support to the team.
  • Implement The Hartford's underwriting framework.
  • Support the development of underwriting and marketing strategies.
  • Generate new business through brokers.
  • Produce internal reports using designated tools.
  • Monitor performance and analyze progression.
  • Build new broker relationships.
  • Identify new products and territories for expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Stay updated on claims developments and liaise with the claims team.
  • Contribute to underwriting results reporting.

Required Qualifications & Capabilities:

  • Prioritize workload effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Knowledge of insurance principles and regulations.
  • Willingness to continue learning about insurance.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in the London Insurance market, specifically in Financial Lines.
