Laws Staff Legal Recruitment Ltd is an award-winning law firm seeking a highly skilled Duty Solicitor to join our Crime Team in South East London. As a successful candidate, you will represent clients detained at police stations and handle your own caseload of criminal defence cases.

Job Description
  • Representing clients detained at police stations
  • Handling own caseload of criminal defence cases across a full range of different offences
  • Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates' Court including summary trials (and Crown Court hearings if the candidate has Higher Rights)

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year's PQE in criminal matters, crime duty accreditation preferred but not essential, excellent communication and advocacy skills, IT proficiency, ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision, demonstrates a pragmatic, professional and positive approach, passion for publically funded work, attention to detail and confidence to work independently as well as in a team, excellent client and team building skills, IT proficiency and ability to work to tight deadlines while remaining calm under pressure.
