About the Role:

This is a full-time position with the successful candidate being part of a dynamic and growing team. The role involves representing clients detained at police stations, handling own caseload of criminal defence cases across a full range of different offences, and conducting advocacy in the Magistrates' Court including summary trials (and Crown Court hearings if the candidate has Higher Rights).

Requirements:

Solicitors with at least 1 year's PQE in criminal matters are required. Crime duty accreditation is preferred but not essential, although the successful candidate will be expected to obtain this accreditation if they do not already have it. Other requirements include excellent communication and advocacy skills, IT proficiency, ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision, demonstrates a pragmatic, professional and positive approach, passion for publically funded work, attention to detail and the confidence to work independently as well as in a team.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
