Department Overview:

ING Bank N.V.\'s Commodity Trading desk is a global leader in providing commodity hedges and risk management solutions to corporate clients. The desk has a presence in key locations, including New York, Singapore, and London, and covers a wide range of products, including Energy, Base and Precious Metals, and Softs & Agri\'s.

This role will cover London Metal Exchange Base Metals, Iron Ore, Coking Coal, and Battery Metals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze market developments in commodity markets.
  • Update and maintain relevant market parameters.
  • Provide indicative and firm quotes for clients.
  • Contribute to the development of IT solutions for the desk.
  • Support senior traders in their daily activities.
  • Assist portfolio owners in managing risk positions within applicable limits and desk risk tolerance.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with FCA requirements, industry conduct rules, and ING Compliance standards.
  • Produce daily profit and loss reports and research.

Career Potential:

  • Increasing scope and responsibility in a growing trading book.
  • Possibility for temporary or permanent assignment in other Financial Markets Trading locations.

Candidate Profile:

Qualification/Education:

  • Educated to degree level in Finance, Economics, Maths, or Science.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • At least 2 years of experience in banking, trading, or risk management roles, or commodities back office or middle office experience looking to move into trading.
  • Excellent Excel and numeracy skills.
  • Programming skills and ability to develop desk tools using VBA and Python are critical.
