We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in Barnet and Haringey. As a specialist in children's speech and language therapy, you will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to children with speech, language, and communication difficulties.

Job Summary

This is a 15-month fixed-term position that offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to achieve outcomes for individuals. You will provide support, programmes, ideas, advice, and assessment to children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.

The role involves working closely with specialist teaching staff, classroom teachers, and education support staff to provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy input to curriculum and programme planning. You will also liaise with the Special Needs Services staff within Barnet and Haringey and with members of the Learning Support Services working with children.

We welcome applications from current Band 5 or 6 SLTs with experience working in early years clinics or mainstream schools. Additional support and training will be offered for less experienced therapists. If an applicant begins the role on a Band 5 grade, once skills, experience, and competencies are achieved, the post can progress to band 6 pay levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for clinical delivery of a specialist SLT service to carry out initial assessments and packages of care to a caseload of children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs around the borough of Barnet and Haringey.
  • To work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to achieve outcomes for individuals, providing support, programmes, ideas, advice, and assessment.
  • To liaise with specialist teaching staff, classroom teachers, and education support staff to provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy input to curriculum and programme planning.
  • To liaise closely with the Special Needs Services staff within Barnet and Haringey and with members of the Learning Support Services working with children.
Requirements

We are looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist who has:

  • BSc. in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent (including Dip. CST)
  • Health and Care Professions Council Registration to Practice
  • Registered Member of RCSLT
Salary and Benefits
