Our Engineering Tech and Data team plays a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive world-class production software. We prioritize providing fast, reliable, and scalable systems that enable our engineering teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain production environments efficiently.

About the role

Data is at the heart of Auctane's strategy. We process thousands of events per second and manage a massive dataset that continues to grow rapidly. As a Senior Data Solutions Engineer, you will contribute to the design, build, and operational management of our data lake and analytics solution on top of proven AWS data technologies like S3, Athena, Lambda, Kinesis, and ECS.

You will use state-of-the-art technologies such as Airflow, dbt, and Spark to process data and ensure our dataset is accurate. Your expertise will help develop frameworks and solutions that enable us to acquire, process, monitor, and extract value from our massive dataset. You will also support Data Analysts and Data Scientists with automation, tooling, data pipelines, and data engineering expertise, enabling them to deliver complex analytics products and machine learning solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and operational manage our data lake and analytics solution on top of AWS data technologies
  • Use Airflow, dbt, and Spark to process data and ensure dataset accuracy
  • Develop frameworks and solutions to acquire, process, monitor, and extract value from our massive dataset
  • Support Data Analysts and Data Scientists with automation, tooling, data pipelines, and data engineering expertise
  • Deliver highly reliable software and data pipelines using Software Engineering best practices

About you

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering professional with a background in developing and supporting robust, automated, and reliable data pipelines in Python and SQL. You should have experience with data processing frameworks like Pandas, Polars, dbt, or Spark, as well as streaming data processing. Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is essential, along with experience in Continuous integration/delivery environment and a passion for automation. Knowledge of a data orchestration solution like Airflow, Oozie, Luigi, or Prefect is also required.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £90,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
