Job Overview

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Solutions Architect Lead to join our dynamic team in a remote-first environment. This role entails designing and delivering cloud-based data solutions utilizing best-in-class RDBMS, ETL/ELT, and Cloud platforms for prominent clients across diverse sectors.

You will lead cross-functional teams comprising Data Engineers, Architects, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance Analysts to establish data processing, storage, and visualization capabilities within an Agile framework. As the technical leader of your team, you will be accountable for stakeholder engagement and the overall delivery of the solution.

About You

We're looking for an exceptional individual with:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record as a senior architect or consultant in data architecture, overseeing the design and implementation of complex data solutions. A strong background in leading architectural design and strategy, as well as managing project budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Architectural Expertise: Extensive knowledge in designing and implementing data streaming and event-driven architectures, focusing on Kafka and Confluent platforms. Proficiency in architecting and implementing data lakes and lakehouse platforms, including experience with Databricks and Unity Catalog. Familiarity with Data Mesh and Data Fabric architectural patterns, as well as developing data product strategies.
  • Data Technology Skills: Strong understanding of big data technologies like Apache Spark, Hadoop ecosystems, and programming languages such as Python, R, or Java. Exposure to ETL/ELT processes, SQL, NoSQL databases, data visualization tools, and DevOps principles/tools is beneficial.
  • Lifecycle Management: Comprehensive understanding of the data architecture lifecycle, from concept to deployment and consumption.
  • Data Governance: Strong knowledge of data management principles and best practices, including data governance frameworks and compliance regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Communication and Leadership: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence architectural decisions and guide best practices.
