Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chef to join our team at Selwood House Care Home, located in Charlton Down, Dorchester. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.

About the Role:

In this exciting opportunity, you will have the chance to lead our kitchen team and take charge of meal preparation, menu planning, and food hygiene and safety standards. You will also assist the Chef Manager in managing the catering team and take responsibility for the kitchen and staff in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aid in preparing high-quality meals for residents
  • Assist with menu planning
  • Promote and monitor food hygiene and safety standards
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure the kitchen is cleaned to a high standard
  • Take responsibility for the kitchen and staff in the Chef Manager's absence

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 3 years' experience as a Chef or in a similar role. You should hold a City & Guilds 7061 or NVQ Level 2 in Catering for the Hospitality Industry, and possess a valid food hygiene certificate. A friendly and approachable demeanor, proactive attitude, and passion for high-quality food are essential skills for this position.
