Vistry Group PLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Safety, Health & Environment department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe planning, delivery, and review of complex projects across the construction and maintenance industry.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Vistry Group's SHE Policies, Standards, and legislation.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor and review safety performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide guidance and support to site teams.
- Collaborate with business units to facilitate the implementation of policies and procedures, reducing risk and promoting a positive SHE culture.
- Drive and promote Vistry Group's behavioural approach through site visits, management meetings, and forums.
- Support the successful implementation of the ActivSHEQ database, promoting and inputting data required by an SHE Advisor in accordance with company guidance and timescales.
- Actively support SHE line management in implementing all Group SHE Standards and reporting any issues arising on site or within business units that may impact SHE compliance and/or SHE resource requirements.
- Support business units in regular SHE Management Reviews to assess and improve performance, supporting the business in planning, reviewing, and achieving SHE objectives.
- Support the business in measuring and monitoring performance against the Group and Divisional Sustainability Route Maps.
- Maintain a dynamic and driven approach to promoting and supporting SHE across the Group.
- Promote Vistry Group as a business that effectively manages SHE, through communications with relevant external professionals, e.g., legislative authorities and industry associations, forums, etc.
- Provide specialist support through advice and guidance for the completion of pre-qualification and tender documentation.
- Assist site management in preparing construction SHE Plans prior to a project commencing and review them at each monthly safety, health, and environmental review to plan for future activities.
- Carry out formal SHE reviews on all sites, on a monthly basis as a minimum, to ensure compliance with Vistry Group's SHE Policies, Standards, and legislation.
