Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Darlington. As a key member of the project team, you will play a crucial role in mitigating commercial and financial risks on projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commercial Risk Management: Review and negotiate contract terms to minimize risk and ensure favorable payment terms.
  • Contract Administration: Identify, evaluate, and process variations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Financial Management: Compile and process applications for payment, and forecast project costs to ensure budgeted margins are achieved.
  • Project Coordination: Represent the company at meetings and discussions, and assist the project team in achieving project goals.
  • Contract Growth: Identify opportunities for contract growth and ensure efficient cost management.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Administer contractual correspondence with clients and subcontractors.
  • Professional Representation: Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Cost Analysis: Identify cost trends, potential savings, and commercial opportunities.
  • Variation Administration: Ensure variations are administered in line with the contract.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in the offshore or construction industry.
  • Skills: Strong affinity with technical and commercial aspects, contract/legal knowledge, excellent negotiation and networking skills.
