Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

NES Fircroft is working with a leader in design and build of high integrity fire & blast protection solutions. We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis from their Darlington office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mitigate Commercial and Financial risks on projects via the Contract wherever possible.
  • Work with the Project Teams to evaluate, maintain and forecast accurate cost and value for designated elements of projects.
  • Review and assist in negotiating acceptable terms and conditions on enquiries to minimise contract risk and to ensure favourable payment terms, minimum bonding and warranty requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, process and agree variations with client and subcontractors.
  • Compile and process applications for payment with clients and subcontractors.
  • Financial awareness of project costs and forecasting of costs through to completion.
  • Assist and monitor the contract review process.
  • Ensure the Project Team realise all opportunities for contract growth through the exploitation of possible new scopes of work.
  • Ensure and maximise contract growth through the efficient cost management of the project and the variation to order process.
Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum of 5 years' experience, within the offshore / construction industry.
  • Strong affinity with both technical and commercial aspects.
  • Contract / Legal knowledge.
  • Excellent negotiation and networking skills.
  • Prepared to travel (if necessary).
