About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cake Baker to contribute to the success of our business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating exquisite cakes, pastries, and desserts that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mix and bake large volumes of sponges, batters, and cakes to maintain stock for both online orders and café demand.
  • Assemble, ice, and finish cakes, including preparing buttercreams, icings, and fillings, and piping personalized messages with a high level of professional skill.
  • Contribute creative ideas for new cakes, especially for special occasions and events.
  • Uphold impeccable food safety and health & safety standards, following company recycling procedures and addressing any concerns with the Production Manager.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, utensils, and work areas throughout the shift and at the end of the day.
Requirements
  • Strong culinary skills, especially in viennoiserie, pastry, cake decoration, and sugar work, with the ability to create elegant, delicious products.
  • Previous experience as a Pastry Chef/Baker in a high-end, fast-paced environment, producing high-quality products in volume.
  • A passion for quality with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety and food hygiene, with the ability to uphold high standards.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and problem-solve.
  • Fluency in English (Italian language skills are a bonus) and good numeracy skills.
  • Creativity and innovation, with an understanding of current food trends.
  • Willingness and ability to work weekends.
