We are seeking a skilled Electrical Commissioning Specialist to join our team at Automation Experts Ltd. Based in the East Midlands, this role would be commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Rugby, Leicester, and Northampton.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Specialist to work with innovative solutions in materials handling, bulk handling, and systems integration. The successful candidate will have experience of commissioning machinery and equipment in a heavy industrial environment, such as Mining, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Steel Production, or Rail.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience in E&I application fault finding and site safety procedures (LOTO, RAMS, etc.). A full driving license and willingness to travel to projects across the UK are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating Electrical and Instrumentation commissioning activities with the client and engineering team on new builds and ongoing upgrades of existing systems.
  • Setting up control panels, PLCs, HMIs, AC and DC Drives, and Instrumentation on and off site.
  • Carry out commissioning tests, review test results, and produce test reports to confirm compliance with technical specifications.
  • Responding to on-call service requests, from breakdowns and faults on electrical and automation equipment remotely or on site or escalating issues to the engineering team.
  • Documenting and controlling all changes including software revisions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Service teams to ensure continuous development of machinery and equipment, processes, and assist with technical issues.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 OTE c£80,000, along with a car allowance, site allowances, overtime, and expenses. This is a home-based role with opportunities to work on exciting projects across the UK.
