About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Development Engineer to join our team at WP Recruitment & HR Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing pre-application highways advice, processing and assessment of planning applications, and attending committee meetings and planning appeals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with local authorities, external organisations, developers, and the public to provide highways advice.
  2. Process and assess highways elements of planning applications, including site visits and working to deadlines.
  3. Attend committee meetings and planning appeals to ensure compliance with regulations.
  4. Manage detailed records for all schemes, including legal and financial agreements.
  5. Conduct technical reviews and analysis of existing network capacity and safety.
  6. Assist in maintaining highway adoption, highways search, and street naming/numbering processes.
  7. Ensure adherence to highways regulations and health and safety standards.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in Highways or Planning Development Control/Design, including knowledge of the Highways Act and CDM legislation.
  2. A degree-level qualification in Planning or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  3. Ability to work to deadlines and be flexible with duties.
  4. Full driver's license.

Salary: £28-36,000 per annum
