About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education and Development Lead to join our team at Sheffield Children\u2019s NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of the workforce development plan for the service, including identifying learning needs and organizing training and professional development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the workforce development plan for the service, including identifying learning needs and organizing training and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to workforce planning initiatives for the department, analyzing data and trends such as staff surveys, workforce data, and retention data.
  • Work with academic institutions to provide quality learning opportunities, aligning with course and workforce requirements.
  • Create a suitable learning environment to develop a culture of learning amongst colleagues, researching and identifying best practices for embedding into services.
  • Develop and implement training and education strategies, liaising with education providers and the Education, Learning and Organisational Development Department.
  • Develop and implement research, audit, and service evaluation programmes, providing data and reports to senior managers, and collaborating with partners to address learning needs and contribute to policy development.
  • Engage in national and international events to stay updated and share best practices, addressing national education issues and implementing changes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Registered with NMC as a Community Specialist Public Health Nurse School Nursing or Health Visiting
  • Post Graduate qualification at master\u2019s Level or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through a combination of in-depth experience post graduate or post registration study, research, and/or courses
  • Supervisor and Assessor qualification

Experience

  • Significant post qualification experience in the field of community public health
  • Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating training.
  • Significant experience of working with children, young people, and families, safeguarding and vulnerable groups.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of current national policies and strategies relating to the health of children and young people and their families.
  • Knowledge of current national policies and strategies relating to education.
  • Knowledge of different community groups and an understanding and appreciation of different cultures.
  • Ability to collaborate with people to agree solutions in sometimes challenging situations.
  • Ability to research information widely and write reports for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide pastoral support making adjustments to support learning
  • Flexible approach to work with the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to build networks to share best practice and keep up to date with new developments.
  • Ability to use different Microsoft software packages.
