Automatic Door Engineer

We are seeking two skilled Engineers to join our team at a multinational automatic door manufacturer. The company is experiencing sustained growth and requires additional staff to meet client demand. The successful candidates will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic doors and industrial doors.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Service, maintain, and repair automatic doors and industrial doors.
  2. Fault find on electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
  3. Perform basic electrical wiring.
  4. Adhere to industry standards such as BS EN 16005 and DHF.
  5. Provide customers with advice and identify the best solution to their individual requirement.

Requirements:

  1. Experience working for an EN 16005 recognised automatic door company.
  2. Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic door systems.
  3. A valid EN 16005 certificate, or at least have held one in the past.
  4. A clean driving license.
  5. A CSCS Card.

Workload:

The workload for both positions will include a mixture of automatic doors, industrial doors, and occasionally gates and barriers. The majority of the work is service, maintenance, and repair, but there likely will be 1 or 2 installs per month too.


Remuneration Package:

  1. Hourly rate up to £20 per hour depending on experience and location.
  2. Top earners bringing in over £70,000 per annum.
  3. Home-based, door-to-door pay.
  4. Premium overtime rates at 1.5x after 9.5 hours per day; travel time is considered overtime.
  5. Saturdays paid at 1.5; Sundays paid at 2.0.
  6. Commission scheme (Average earnings £3,000 per year).
  7. All power tools and hand tools provided.
  8. Brand new professionally racked company van - personal use optional.
  9. Mobile phone and tablet provided.

Callouts:

  1. £15 per day when on call plus £15 additional payment per call plus 3 hours double time minimum. If you work over 3 hours, the additional hours are paid at double time.
  2. £150 per out of hours call out if call taken when not on call.

Training:

Engineers will be put through DHF Gate Diploma, DHF Door Diploma, and IPAF.
