Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our client's close-knit team as a Shift Maintenance Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all production equipment and site services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all production equipment and site services
  • Carry out planned maintenance activities to ensure plant safety and reliability
  • Dealing with pneumatics, inverters, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, inverters, sensors
  • Project engineering - hands-on equipment upgrades and continuous improvements
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, machining to make parts and welding
Requirements
  • Ideally be a mechanically biased engineer or multi-skilled
  • Apprenticeship trained or a time-served engineering with mechanical and electrical qualifications
  • Have previously worked in food or FMCG manufacturing
  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, machining and welding experience
  • Good organisational and communication skills - working in a small team of engineers
  • Have a proved track record of working in a maintenance type role
  • PLC - electrical fault finding skills would be great
