SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team at an SEN School in Guildford. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse special educational needs, including those with Autism and other disabilities.
About the Role:
Your primary responsibilities will include engaging and supporting students with challenging behaviours, facilitating classroom activities, and providing necessary personal care. You will also be required to implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) under the guidance of classroom teachers.
Responsibilities:
- Engage and Support: Assist students with diverse special educational needs.
- Classroom Assistance: Facilitate classroom activities and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
- Personal Care: Provide necessary personal care, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene support.
- Individualised Plans: Implement IEPs under the guidance of classroom teachers.
Requirements:
- Previous experience with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to manage and positively respond to challenging behaviour.
- Willingness to provide personal care as needed.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential due to the school's location and potential off-site activities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
Salary: £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
