About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team at Sheridan Maine South. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, processing supplier invoices, and managing our purchase ledger.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transactions: Process supplier invoices, manage purchase ledger, and reconcile credit card transactions.
  • Credit Control: Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collection of debts.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Invoice Management: Generate invoices to clients and resolve any related queries.
  • Banking and Cash Management: Oversee banking and cash management activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Reporting: Provide ad-hoc reporting to the wider finance team, ensuring timely and accurate financial information.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with Sage accounting software (preferred).
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Priority Setting: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines effectively.
