Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable registered Pharmacist to join our small, friendly but progressive inpatient department at Weston General Hospital.

The Advanced Antimicrobial and Intensive Care Pharmacist is a full-time post (37.5 hours per week) which can be split into 2 x 0.5WTE posts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote safe and effective use of medicines and influence prescribing.
  • Undertake audits and education and training of medical and nursing staff.
  • Provide information on medicines use and costs to Directorates within the Trust and monitor the Trust's performance for national CQUINs and related local targets.
  • Develop an independent prescribing role within both specialties.

Requirements

You will have recent hospital experience, preferably including antimicrobial stewardship and intensive care prescribing; have excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills and preferably good mentoring, teaching and assessment skills to enable you to take on this influential role within our Trust.
