About the Role

At Saha, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality housing services, support, and resettlement for individuals who have experienced homelessness and require assistance with accommodation.

Mildmay House is a 47-bed supported accommodation service for single homeless males and females aged 16 upwards. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, including relationship breakdowns, rough sleeping, mental health issues, and substance abuse. We strive to create a warm, respectful, and supportive environment, making every individual feel at home from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify and prioritize the needs of allocated clients.
  • Provide personalized support to clients, focusing on managing personal care needs, such as hygiene and well-being.
  • Develop and implement services aimed at reducing emergency service admissions related to substance abuse.
  • Proactively address physical and emotional deterioration, isolation, and exclusion among clients.
  • Maintain high standards of accommodation and grounds through effective communication and practical means, including room clearing, reporting repairs, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

  • Experience in supporting vulnerable populations or groups.
  • Knowledge of working with individuals who have experienced long-term homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health issues (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • High level of resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Asset-based approach to empowering individuals, focusing on developing skills, strengths, and talents.
  • Understanding of community resources and organizations that can support clients.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, accommodating a rotating schedule and team needs.
