Job Summary

NHS Lothian is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our Upper Limb MSK Out-patient Service as an Advanced Practitioner Hand Therapist (Band 7).

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to gain extensive and in-depth experience in hand therapy and orthopaedic out-patient rehabilitation. The successful applicant will work across site at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the Western General Hospital, managing trauma, and elective, surgical and non-surgical upper limb patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in in-service development and support a proactive team approach to the delivery of hand and upper limb rehabilitation.
  • Provide training to the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and contribute to pan Lothian Quality Improvement (QI) projects aiming to improve orthopaedic pathways.
  • Help clinically lead and develop the Physiotherapy Out-patient upper limb rehabilitation service in conjunction with the Team Lead Physiotherapists.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have extensive experience and relevant postgraduate education in hand and upper limb rehabilitation, including splinting and wound management. They will also have the ability to participate in in-service development and support a proactive team approach to the delivery of hand and upper limb rehabilitation.
