Industrial Automation Systems Engineer Apprentice

This apprenticeship is designed to help you launch your career in industrial automation systems engineering. With Amazon, you'll have access to cutting-edge equipment, technologies, and facilities to work on.
About the RoleYou'll work closely with our specialist RME team to develop your technical skills and expertise in areas such as organisation, prioritisation, data analysis, problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in classroom training and workshops hosted offsite
- Complete Amazon's on-the-job training program delivered by our specialist RME team
- Receive mentorship from experienced automation engineers
You'll also have the chance to grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas, such as organisation, prioritisation, data analysis, problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
Apprenticeship StructureThe apprenticeship is divided into four years, with each year focusing on different aspects of industrial automation systems engineering. In year 1, you'll undergo full-time residential (classroom) training at one of our training provider facilities. You may be required to work away from home Monday to Friday each week during term time, with costs supported by Amazon. Years 2 and 3 will comprise block release training at one of our operations warehouses. In year 4, you'll complete a substantial work-based project and attend one of our university partners to complete a BSc degree.
Your estimated salary will be around £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, based on your location and experience.
Qualifications and RequirementsTo be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have lived in the UK or an EEA, or British overseas territory for 3 years or more prior to commencing the apprenticeship
- Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program
- Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2025 or later
- Be 18 years old or older before entering an Amazon building
- Hold three A levels (or equivalent) at C or above in either Mathematics, IT, Physics, or an Engineering related subject, OR have completed a BTEC level 3 engineering qualification of 180 credits which must include further mathematics and have achieved 5 GCSE's (including Maths and English) at grade 1-4 (A – C)
- Have a deep interest in industrial automation systems engineering and strong willingness to learn
- Be able to read, understand and communicate in English, interact and engage comfortably with people at all levels of the business
- Follow a list of guidelines and instructions (verbal or written) to deliver results and meet deadlines
