Job Overview

A part-time opportunity for a Clinical Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist has become available at Newham University Hospital, working 22.5 hours over Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

This post offers a unique challenge for a highly motivated and experienced expert respiratory physiotherapist with proven clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion to support service development at our hospital.

The role is supported by the Clinical Leads, Head of Therapies, and peer support via our network of Clinical Leads across Barts Health.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will take a lead supporting the MDT in the respiratory management and rehabilitation of patients.
  • You will support the development of ward-based MDT and therapy skills of acute respiratory management, Optiflow, Non-Invasive Ventilation, Tracheostomy management, decannulation, and deep suctioning.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience in teaching clinicians management of Non-Invasive Ventilation and ventilator support, High-Flow Oxygen provision, and Tracheostomy management.
  • Operational management experience in a complex environment.
  • Experience of successfully leading and implementing service improvement and change projects.
  • Working across and leading Trust-wide projects.
  • Ability to understand complex issues, problem-solve, and propose solutions.
