Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom Practice Plus Group Full time

About This Role

Bristol NHS 111 Advisor | Part-Time Weekend Hours Available | Enhanced Rates

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care? As a key member of our 111 team in Bristol, you'll play a vital role in making a difference in people's lives.

This is an exciting opportunity to train as a Health Advisor in our brand new and modern 111 call centre, handling calls from members of the public. You'll learn to utilize the state-of-the-art triage tool, NHS Pathways, to assess patients over the phone and direct them to the most suitable care.

While these are not emergency calls, you'll need to be prepared to handle emotionally challenging, distressing, or life-threatening scenarios and arrange for 999 services if required.

We offer enhanced pay rates for weekends and part-time weekend roles from 16 to 24 hours per week to cover our core shifts and support patients when they need us most. Other available hours include weekdays from 07:00 to 16:00.

Please note: If you require hours exceeding 24 per week, including full-time roles, we may accommodate you if you're willing to work additional weekend hours.

The extensive training provides you with valuable skills and includes assessments. You can choose from two training options: full-time (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) for 6 weeks or part-time (Tues, Weds, Thurs, 6pm-10pm and Sat-Sun, 9am-5pm) for 8 weeks. You must attend every training day, followed by 8 weeks of support before working independently.

Available upcoming training dates:

  • 7th September - Part-Time
  • 9th September - Full-Time
  • 7th October - Full-Time
  • 19th October - Part-Time

Once you've completed your training, you can join the team part-time on your pre-discussed shift pattern. However, please note that this is a 24/7, 365-days-a-year service, particularly busy at weekends and weekday evenings, so you should expect to work at these times, plus some bank holidays.
