Job Title: Specialist Physiotherapist Stroke

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Physiotherapist Stroke to join our team.

As a Specialist Physiotherapist Stroke, you will be responsible for delivering highly skilled physiotherapy to patients in the respective clinical areas. You will act as a senior clinical decision maker, leading complex care and discharge planning and delivering rehabilitation to ensure patients are optimally rehabilitated and discharged effectively and efficiently.

You will make onward referral to other services as required. Follow-up visits into the community are an emerging aspect of work in this specialty. You will support the development of less experienced, unregistered staff and students within the team.

In turn, you will be supported to develop into the role and responsibilities of a Band 6 clinician as required.

You will be passionate about empowering patients to achieve their goals and to remain as independent and active as possible. Prior experience within stroke or neurological care is highly desired. Participation in service improvement is expected and encouraged. Contribution to the on-call physiotherapy service is a requirement of the post.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highly skilled physiotherapy to patients in the respective clinical areas
  • Act as a senior clinical decision maker, leading complex care and discharge planning
  • Deliver rehabilitation to ensure patients are optimally rehabilitated and discharged effectively and efficiently
  • Make onward referral to other services as required
  • Support the development of less experienced, unregistered staff and students within the team

Requirements:

  • Diploma/MSc/BSc in Physiotherapy
  • Current Health Professions Council registration
  • Proven clinical experience in relevant clinical specialty
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Working Hours:

37 hours per week

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

UK Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
