Job Description:

The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse is responsible for providing leadership and management to the nursing team in the Major Trauma Ward at the Royal London Hospital. This includes providing a high standard of individualised care to patients, promoting a culture of excellence, and driving quality care provision forward.

The successful candidate will have experience in an acute clinical setting, sound clinical knowledge of trauma patients, and a desire to develop their leadership style. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the MDT.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to staff and deputise for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence;
  • Supervise and teach junior members of staff and learners as required;
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes;
  • Work collaboratively with other non-clinical teams to develop skills and knowledge;
