We are seeking a highly skilled Applied Social Science Research Specialist to join our team at the University of Bristol. As part of this role, you will work on several research projects within the National Institute for Health and Care Research Applied Research Collaboration West (NIHR ARC West).

About the role

The postholder will work closely with the Behavioural and Qualitative Science team leads, including Dr Jon Banks, to design and carry out applied social science research. This will involve collaborating with external partners to develop high-quality research studies, and utilising a range of data collection and analytic methods.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of working within a multidisciplinary team. They will also have an interest in implementation or knowledge mobilisation, and be able to contribute to the Public and Community Involvement, Engagement and Participation (PCIEP) activities and strategies for projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality qualitative and mixed-methods research studies
  • Collaborate with external partners to deliver research projects
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications

Salary: £49,250-£55,295 per annum pro-rata (approximately £25,125-£27,647.50 per year)
