Job Title:

Senior Ornithologist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ornithologist to join our ecology team and play a lead role in delivering projects across our business sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ornithology, excellent bird identification skills, and experience in a range of ornithology survey techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage survey work across a wide range of sites, including data analysis, report writing, and project management.
  • Provide specialist technical advice to clients, colleagues, and consultees.
  • Lead on ornithology surveys, following a range of survey methodologies and techniques.
  • Produce technical reports, including scoping reports and EIA chapters, including data analysis and presentation.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Ecology, Biological Science, or equivalent, plus appropriate level of membership of CIEEM or equivalent.
  • A passion for ornithology and excellent bird identification skills.
  • Experience in a range of ornithology survey techniques.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget management and liaison with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Good theoretical grounding in ecology, survey guidance, and environmental assessment.
