Job Title: Data Privacy Compliance Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Data Privacy Compliance Specialist to lead our data privacy program and ensure compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR and UK data regulations. This role involves developing and implementing robust data privacy policies, managing compliance projects, and providing essential training across the organization. This position is integral to safeguarding our data practices and promoting a strong culture of privacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Uphold Data Privacy Policies: Create and maintain data privacy policies in line with regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Lead Data Privacy Initiatives: Drive data privacy initiatives, including breach responses, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and data retention strategies.
  • Conduct Privacy Assessments: Conduct thorough privacy assessments to identify potential organizational risks.
  • Manage DSARs: Manage and respond to data subject access requests (DSARs) as legally required.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with legal, IT, and other teams to ensure full data compliance.
  • Provide Training: Provide training to promote data privacy awareness across the organization.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Stay current with regulatory changes to maintain ongoing compliance.

Requirements:

  • Deep Knowledge: Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection laws.
  • Strong Project Management: Strong project management capabilities with a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent Communication: Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic IT Understanding: Basic understanding of IT systems and data management.
  • Preferred Certifications: Preferred certifications: CIPP, CIPP/E, or equivalent in data privacy.
  • Regulated Industry Experience: Background in regulated industries (e.g., Consumer Packaged Goods) is beneficial.
