We help clients realise ambitious plans for zero-carbon built environments by covering the entire life cycle of any building project. Our approach is centred around listening to our clients and interacting with fellow project stakeholders to add value with our people, client service ethos, and technical ability.

We are seeking a skilled Associate Electrical Design Engineer to be based in our London office, with the ability to inspire others and take on major projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in running projects, team management, and cost analysis, with a strong understanding of engineering services and building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run major projects, taking a team management role in the development and design of engineering project services.
  • Carry out cost and profit diagnosis, including feasibility studies and fee bids.
  • Review project status, modifying schedules or plans as required, and prepare project reports.
  • Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services.
  • Survey, test, and report on existing electrical and mechanical installations.
  • Specify activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing meet functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
  • Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet industry and legal standards.
  • Direct liaison with clients, making day-to-day decisions on project progress and providing advice.
  • Monitor risks and performance through effective systems of internal control and delegation.

Requirements:

  • BSc/BEng in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • MCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC + appropriate experience or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Significant experience in specification design for various building types and knowledge of health and safety issues and legislation.
  • Appreciation and working knowledge of contract and business law.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Good understanding of BS standards, UK regulations, and codes.
  • Experience and understanding of invoicing and credit control.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Background in consulting or construction preferred.
  • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
