Senior Software Architect for Combat Air Project

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Software Engineer to join our team at Matchtech, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector.
Job Description:This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the delivery of software components and documentation for a high-profile project. As the technical lead, you will be responsible for delivering software artefacts (code and documentation) that meet company standards and processes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Technical Leadership: Act as the technical lead and provide guidance to the engineering team on software development best practices.
- Software Delivery: Ensure software is developed and released in accordance with company processes, including Agile development using Azure DevOps ALM.
- Collaboration: Engage with engineering management and key stakeholders to provide progress updates and ensure seamless collaboration.
- Work Item Completion: Complete work items assigned from Sprint planning meetings and demonstrate completed work items merged into the Git Develop branches at Sprint Review meetings.
- Documentation: Update documentation deliverables and internal documents to ensure compliance.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- C+ Proficiency: Strong proficiency in C+
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2019: Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2019
- Wind River Workbench: Knowledge of Wind River Workbench, Linux SDK (or equivalent)
- Windows Host-Based Development: Windows host-based development skills
- VxWorks 7 and Linux Target RTOS: Experience with VxWorks 7 and Linux target RTOS development
- DOORS Requirements Management: DOORS requirements management experience
- High Integrity Software: Experience with High Integrity Software
- Agile Development: Agile development using Azure DevOps ALM
- Software Team Delivery: Experience delivering software within a software team
We estimate the salary for this role to be around £80,000-£100,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.
