Construction Skills Mentor for Youth in Chelmsford

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic trainer to work with young people aged 14-19 years old in the construction industry. This role is based in Chelmsford, Essex, and offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of local teenagers.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, excellent communication skills, and a passion for construction. They will be responsible for providing one-to-one support, accompanying building site visits, and helping students gain essential employability skills.
About the RoleThis position is available immediately and offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will work approximately 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and may be required to work some weekends or evenings.

Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one support to 14-19 year olds in a workshop environment as part of their City & Guilds training programme.
- Accompany and supervise building site visits as part of their learning & development plan.
- Help students develop essential employability skills, including time management, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a construction-related setting.
- A good understanding of manual tasks and DIY activities.
- A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
