We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will work closely with adults who experience various moderate/complex mental health difficulties, providing psychological interventions and support to meet their biopsychosocial needs.
Key Responsibilities- Work alongside Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners to deliver a plan of care that meets the individual's needs.
- Deliver psychological interventions, including confidence building, graded exposure, anxiety management, mood management, and guided self-help.
- Support patients to attend other appointments that may be impacting their mental health presentation.
- Integrate with GP practices, work alongside other agencies, and participate in multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Manage and prioritize a caseload.
- Support the team in completing physical health checks for patients registered on the Serious Mental Illness (SMI) register.
- Contribute to service improvement and delivery initiatives.
- GCSE maths and English at C or above/equivalent adult learning qualification.
- Level 3 qualification in Care or Level 2 qualification in Care, with a commitment to undertaking the relevant level 3 qualification on appointment.
- Experience of working with service users with complex health needs.
- Desirable: completion of training in psychological intervention and/or counselling skills.
