Job Overview

The Division of Surgery at BHRUT NHS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead our Upper Gastrointestinal team. As a key member of our clinical care group, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance to the Upper Gastrointestinal team
  • Developing and implementing integrated care pathways and protocols
  • Equipping primary carers with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-standard care to patients with upper GI cancer
  • Participating in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Oncology or Haematology post-registration qualification
  • Advanced communication skills training
  • Physical examination qualification (desirable)
  • Counselling skills training (desirable)

You must have appropriate UK professional registration and be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
