Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our clients growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety management systems. You will also be responsible for conducting risk assessments and audits, developing and delivering training on health and safety procedures, monitoring and reporting on health and safety performance, and liaising with regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety management systems
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits
  • Develop and deliver training on health and safety procedures
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies
  • Manage weekly site H&S and compliance check meetings
  • Review and audit subcontractors
  • Ensure the company meets its obligations under the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations
  • Investigate accidents
  • Ensure all documentation is up to date
  • Addressing employees concerns or queries regarding Safety, environmental, and Health Issues.
  • Participating in the investigation and reporting of accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences. Ensuring that corrective actions are implemented
  • Continuously collaborating with line managers to enhance their safety responsibilities for their teams

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant qualification in Health and Safety
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • NEBOSH Certification
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of Health and safety and quality assurance.
  • Experience in managing risk and implementing control measures
  • Attention to detail and demonstrable communication skills
  • Emergency First Aid
