About the Role
The Freight Operations Manager will be responsible for day-to-day leadership and operational management of the team, motivating members to exceed performance targets. Key activities include:
- Motivating and guiding team members to achieve goals
- Creating a positive team environment centered on delivering superior customer service
- Assisting in recruitment processes
- Providing effective communication to team members and management
- Ensuring all deadlines are met
- Remaininig in contact with customers and suppliers to develop strong relationships
- Maintaining a strong working knowledge of the company's products and services
- Cost control
- FOLLOWING strict SOPs/KPIs to ensure compliance
- Work closely with internal and external customers
- Ensuring invoicing, job costing, and milestones are updated within the required timeframe
- Assisting Sales and management with customer development
- Regular customer communication/meetings and assisting with business reviews
- Being the first point of contact to receive and resolve queries from customers and suppliers
- Operating within the company's QA system
Essential Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years' industry experience
- Knowledge of multi-modal processes
- Deep Customs knowledge
- A high level of customer service skills
- Good Knowledge of In House Computer System
- Financial Awareness
- Key Account Procedure Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of customer needs
- Knowledge in the international transportation and logistics industry, in export Air Sea Road operations
- A good knowledge of IT systems and processes used in the transport sector
- Fluent in English, local language, and any other languages required for smooth operation of business
