Shift: Monday to Friday: 08:45 - 17:15 (as a minimum)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products.

  1. Design and develop mechanical systems and products using CAD software.
  2. Compile parts lists and maintain drawing records in accordance with technical office procedures.
  3. Offer creative solutions within cost and time constraints.
  4. Work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
  5. Visit customers' sites to gather engineering information.
  6. Liaise with customers to ensure smooth communication and resolve any issues.
  7. Provide practical and cost-effective solutions to design changes and modifications.
  8. Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations and manage the design process.
  9. Provide technical support to customers and internal sales/service departments.
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A Mechanical Engineering degree (BEng or MEng).
  2. Experience with design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, Catia).
  3. 8-10 years' experience in a design role in an industrial environment.
  4. Recent experience of design engineering work (not just reverse engineering or project management).
  5. Machinery design experience (e.g. conveyor systems, bearing, linkages, mechanisms, packaging machinery).
  6. Ability to provide practical, creative, and cost-effective solutions to design change/modification.
  7. Multi-tasking skills with simultaneous projects meeting tight cost and time restraints.
  8. Clear, fluent English (written and verbal).
  9. Ability to travel worldwide with no restrictions.
Advantageous Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

It would be beneficial if you have:

  1. Experience with Autodesk Vault v2015 onwards.
  2. Relevant design experience with sheet metal work/electro/mechanical machinery/special purpose machinery for mechanical handling processes.
  3. Interest in mechanical/engineering hobbies.
  4. Foreign language ability.
