Job Description Summary

This role will have a global focus and require demonstrated leadership experience for teams and projects based across the UK, USA, India, and Germany.

The successful candidate will be based from our Stafford Centre of Excellence, responsible for leading activities and department/team development across Systems engineering: Design Principles (Mechanical and Electrical design), Valve Testing, R&D, manufacturing, and On-shore/Off-shore site works.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Management of a global team of engineers involved in the design, fabrication, testing, and erection at sites (Onshore and Offshore platforms).
  2. Responsible for developing specialized knowledge in the relevant team's discipline.
  3. Ensuring training and licenses are up to date, especially for site intervention teams.
  4. Serves as best practice/quality resource.
  5. Has awareness of latest technical developments in the HVDC converters space.
  6. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
  7. Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  8. Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
  9. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
  10. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  11. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  12. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  13. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
  14. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
  15. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  1. This role requires significant experience in Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering Management:
  2. Converter Valves and Cooling System Valves Design (Mechanical & Electrical).
  3. Inverters.
  4. HVDC Projects.
  5. FACTS.
  6. Statcom.
  7. Previous experience working with/for Valve suppliers.
  8. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a College certification with relevant and demonstrated experience).
  9. Proven and demonstrated experience leading global team activities in the UK, and other countries such as: USA, India, and Germany.
  10. Ensuring Licenses and training are up to date for relevant team members especially within the On-shore and Off-shore service team.
  11. The successful candidate will have prior experience and understands the importance of site activities.
